New Buick 2022 Buick Encore for Sale in Springfield, MA
The 2022 Buick Encore is a five-passenger subcompact crossover that continually delivers high levels of comfort, performance, and style in an inexpensive package. Drivers appreciate the Encore’s upscale nature and affordability – a pair of qualities that you don’t often find together. What’s more, the Encore presents a versatile and practical interior that works well for a wide range of activities, be it running errands around town or loading up for a getaway weekend.
Buick has given the Encore a few notable upgrades for model year 2022, led by a new engine that puts out an additional 17 horsepower and 29 lb.-ft. of torque than the previous powerplant. Plus, new front seatback pockets add a little extra storage space. Another change of note is that the base trim level has been done away with, leaving the Preferred as the sole trim.
Powertrains and Capabilities
Powering the ’22 Encore is a new turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 155 hp and 177 lb.-ft. of torque. A six-speed automatic transmission completes the powertrain; front-wheel drive comes standard and all-wheel drive is optional. With FWD, the Encore achieves an EPA-estimated 24 mpg in around-town driving and 32 mpg on the highway; AWD uses a tad more fuel, returning 23 city/30 highway.
As mentioned, the ’22 Encore is made in a single trim level called Preferred. It’s eligible for two optional packages, Safety and Safety II. The Safety Package issues a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert and a 120-volt power outlet, and the Safety II Package adds forward collision warning, lane departure warning, front and rear parking sensors, and rain-sensing windshield wipers. Other accessories such as floor mats and cargo organizers are available, too, along with rooftop crossbars and an accessory hitch for attaching a rear-mounted bicycle rack.
Standard and Optional Features
Like all Buicks, the 2022 Encore is packed with nice features for convenience, good looks, and comfort. It has 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights with a signature lighting pattern, LED taillights, body-color door handles, heated exterior mirrors, roof-mounted side rails, keyless entry and ignition, MyBuick remote services (includes remote start), a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, two USB ports, a 60/40 split-folding rear bench seat, and a cargo area cover.
The ’22 Encore has a well-rounded infotainment system controlled via a 7-inch touchscreen. It has Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming, an onboard 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a sound system with six speakers. Buyers can opt for a moonroof, roof-rack cross bars, wheel locks, a 120V power outlet, all-weather floor mats, a cargo area tray, and front footwell and cupholder lighting.
The ride is serene thanks to QuietTuning technology, which uses triple door seals and acoustic laminated glass in the windshield to help reduce unwanted noises in the cabin. On the safety front, the Encore gets 10 standard airbags and StabiliTrak traction control. It’s also eligible for some active driver aids via the Safety and Safety II packages (detailed in the introduction).
