2022 Chevrolet Corvette for Sale in Springfield, MA

There are few cars as legendary in American motoring as the Chevrolet Corvette. Although it was initially slow to catch on after it debuted as a prototype in 1953, its popularity soared when Chevy added horsepower, and it has remained steadfast in the two-seater sports car realm. The traditional front-engine formula was replaced with a mid-engine design typical in European supercars. It’s an idea that traces back to the early days of the Corvette, and engineer Zora Arkus-Duntov, who some call the father of the ‘Vette. But it would take many decades and a different generation of Chevrolet engineers to bring his vision to life.

Today’s Corvette is also notable for what it doesn’t have: turbochargers or superchargers. Instead, a naturally aspirated twin-cam V8 takes it to 60 mph from a standstill in 2.9 seconds. With a top speed of 194 mph, it delivers supercar numbers without the supercar price tag. This 2022 edition carries on the Corvette legacy of performance and value wrapped in a distinctive body with an aluminum and carbon-fiber structure for extra rigidity and improved handling.

Trims and Mechanical Specifications

Chevrolet sells the 2022 Corvette in three trims – 1LT, 2LT, or 3LT – with each offered as a coupe or hardtop convertible. The 6.2-liter V8 cranks out 490 horsepower and 465 lb.-ft. of torque, but the optional Z51 Performance Package will add 5 horsepower and 5 lb.-ft. of torque. An eight-speed dual-clutch automatic is the sole transmission, and as always, all Corvettes are rear-wheel drive. The EPA estimated fuel economy for the is 15 mpg around town and 27 mpg on the open road.

Features, Options, and Performance Upgrades

The 1LT is a well-equipped sports car, getting eight-way power leather-trimmed GT1 seats, a digital instrument cluster, dual-zone automatic climate control, a removable roof panel (coupe), a power-retractable hardtop (convertible), 19-inch (front) and 20-inch (rear) aluminum wheels with run-flat performance tires, and LED headlights. Chevy also adds remote start, proximity keyless entry, a power tilt-and-telescopic steering column, and a limited-slip rear differential.

The 2LT’s upgrades are many, staring with a performance recorder that captures driving data and video. It also gets a rearview mirror that switches between a conventional reflecting surface and a digital camera display, power- seat bolsters and lumbar support, a seat-position memory system for both occupants, a head-up display, wireless device charging, and infotainment and safety upgrades which are detailed below. Based on availability, the LT2 may include heated and ventilated seats and a heated steering wheel. The 3LT takes the Corvette’s cabin to the next level with sport seats with carbon-fiber accents (these are optional on the 2LT). There’s also a leather upholstery upgrade and leather covering for the upper instrument panel, door trim panels, and console cover. Microfiber covers the steering wheel and headliner.

Beyond a choice of trims, the 2022 Corvette offers enhancements that let owners individualize their cars. Most notably among these upgrades is the Z51 Performance Package, which gives the Corvette track-ready capabilities by adding Brembo brakes, a specially tuned suspension, performance ratio rear axles, an electronic limited-slip differential, a performance exhaust, a unique front splitter and rear spoiler, a heavy-duty cooling system, and high-performance summer run-flat tires. Many of those Z51 features are available as individual options. Other add-ons include magnetic ride control, a front lift system (to avoid scraping the front end on speed bumps), numerous wheel choices, and competition sport bucket seats (for improved support during performance driving).

Advanced Safety Equipment

All 2022 Corvettes are equipped with a full array of airbags, active handling stability control, all-speed traction control, rear parking assist, and a high-definition rear-vision camera with dynamic guidelines. The 2LT and 3LT get a front high-resolution monitor, side blind-zone alert, and rear cross-traffic alert.

Infotainment and Connectivity

The ’22 Corvette’s infotainment system has an 8-inch touchscreen display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, and access to OnStar, Chevrolet Connected Services, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. A Bose audio system is standard; the 1LT gets ten speakers but the 2LT and 3LT are given fourteen. Navigation is available on the 1LT and standard on the higher trims.
