New GMC 2022 GMC Sierra Heavy Duty for Sale in Springfield, MA
Rugged, reliable, and capable: those are the qualities a truck needs to perform as a true workhorse. The 2022 GMC Sierra HD fits that bill, delivering the vigor necessary to get the toughest jobs done. This full-sized pickup truck has long been a go-to for tackling the seemingly impossible. Some of its highlight attributes include a best-in-class heavy-duty cargo bed volume of 83.5 cubic feet, the world’s first six-function tailgate, and a groundbreaking transparent trailer view system – the industry’s first. What’s more, it’s the first HD pickup to offer an Allison 10-speed automatic transmission. The ’22 Sierra HD is also quite luxurious, especially if you opt for one of the higher-end trims.
Powertrains and Capabilities
The Sierra HD is available as either a 2500 or 3500 model, with five trim levels offered for both: the Pro, SLE, SLT, AT4, and Denali. The Pro and SLE can be configured with either a regular, double, or crew cab. The SLT is only eligible for double and crew cabs, while the AT4 and Denali are crew-cab-only; a long bed is optional for each trim. The standard powerplant is a 6.6-liter V8 that makes 401 hp and 464 lb.-ft. of torque; it works with a six-speed automatic transmission. Those who want even more power can opt for the Duramax 6.6-liter diesel V8, which produces 445 hp and 910 lb.-ft. of torque and pairs with an Allison 10-speed automatic gearbox. Rear-wheel drive is standard for most trims and four-wheel drive (4WD) is available (except for the AT4 and Denali, where 4WD is standard). The 2500 offers a maximum towing capacity of 18,500 pounds, but the 3500 can tow up to 36,000 lb. For payload, the 2500 has a 3,657 lb. maximum capacity, while the 3500’s payload capacity maxes out at 6,523 lb.
